This privacy policy applies to the Cat Translator app for mobile devices, together with the related online services operated by Şafak Doğan Dökme (collectively, the "Application"). Şafak Doğan Dökme is hereby referred to as the "Service Provider". The Application is offered as a Freemium service and is intended for use "AS IS".
Information Collection and Use
The Application does not ask you to create an account with an email address, password, or phone number. When you first open it, the Application signs you in anonymously through Firebase Authentication. This creates a random account identifier that is not linked to your name, email address, phone number, or advertising identifier. That identifier is used to keep your coin balance, to link your purchases to you, and to keep your requests to the Service Provider's servers separate from other people's.
The Application collects information when you download and use it. This information may include information such as:
- Your device's Internet Protocol address
- Your mobile operating system and its version, your device model, the Application's version, and the language and region settings of your device
- The anonymous account identifier described above, and an identifier generated by the Application for your installation
- The screens of the Application you visit and the features you use, the time and date of your visit, and the time spent in the Application
- Product usage events — for example completing onboarding, recording or filming your cat, using a tool, viewing a subscription offer, or making a purchase — along with your subscription status, the number of sessions, and the number of days since installation
- Information about purchases you make, such as the product, the transaction identifier, and the number of coins credited to or spent from your balance
The Application does not gather precise information about the location of your mobile device, and it does not access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) or track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.
Content you choose to submit
The Application's features work on content you choose to give it. Depending on the feature you use, this may include:
- Audio recordings of your cat, made with your device's microphone, which you send to be translated or answered
- Video clips of your cat (up to 15 seconds), recorded with your camera or chosen from your library, together with any quick phrases you tapped while filming
- Photos of your cat, taken with your camera or chosen from your library, for the Mood Scan, Breed ID, Cat Outfits, and video template features
- A photo of yourself (a selfie), for the Your Cat Twin feature. This photo shows a person's face. Please only submit photos of yourself, or of someone who has agreed to it
- Text you type, such as a sentence you want to say to your cat, or a question you ask the Catsperts (the behaviour and vet experts in the chat)
- Your cat's profile details — name, age, and breed — which are sent together with a request so the answer can refer to your cat. Your cat's gender, life stage, and portrait photo are used on your device only
How the AI features process your content
The Application uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to translate, interpret, and answer, and to create pictures and short videos of your cat. When you use one of these features, the content you submitted is sent over an encrypted connection to the Service Provider's server, which passes it to an AI provider to produce the result:
- Google Vertex AI (Gemini models) processes voice recordings, video clips, typed text, Catsperts questions, cat photos for Mood Scan and Breed ID, the photo check performed before a video is made, and the selfie used for Your Cat Twin
- fal.ai processes cat photos for Cat Outfits and for video templates, and creates the short video clips for video templates
The Service Provider's server does not keep the recordings, video clips, photos, selfies, or text you submit after your request has been answered. The AI providers process them under their own terms, which are linked below.
The results the AI produces are handled as follows:
- Text results (translations, moods, breed identifications, and expert answers) are returned to your device. The results of coin-based tools are also kept on the Service Provider's server with your coin records, so that a request that is interrupted and retried is not charged twice
- Pictures and videos the Application creates for you, and the image used as a video's first frame, are stored in a private Google Cloud Storage bucket under your anonymous account identifier. You can open them through time-limited links that expire after 7 days. The files are deleted automatically 30 days after they are created
Information kept only on your device
Some information is stored only on your device and is not sent to the Service Provider, including your cat profiles (with any photo you add as your cat's portrait), your chat history (up to the most recent 200 messages per cat), your daily plan progress, streaks, and reminders, and your settings. Recordings you make may be kept temporarily on your device so that you can replay them. You can remove a cat's profile in the Application, which also removes that cat's plan, streaks, and reminders, and you can clear the chat from the chat menu, which also removes the recordings and images attached to it.
Uninstalling the Application removes the information stored in the Application's own storage on your device. On iOS, the anonymous account identifier and the installation identifier are kept in your device's Keychain, which iOS may retain after the Application is deleted. This is intentional: coin packs are consumable purchases that Apple does not restore, so if you reinstall the Application it recognises your account and your remaining coin balance.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the Application schedules reminders on your device, for example about your cat's daily plan. When you start a video, the Application may ask for permission to notify you when the video is ready. For those notifications, the Service Provider stores a push notification token for your device and your app language with your anonymous account, and sends the notification through Firebase Cloud Messaging.
Support messages
If you contact the Service Provider through the contact form in the Application, your message, the topic you chose, and the email address you enter are sent to the Service Provider through Mixpanel so that the Service Provider can read and reply to them. You can also email contact@apprexy.com directly.
Permissions
The Application asks for the following permissions only when you use a feature that needs them. You can change them at any time in your device's Settings:
- Microphone — to record your cat's sounds, and the sound of the video clips you film
- Camera — to film your cat, and to take photos for your cat's profile and for the photo and video tools
- Photo Library — to choose photos or videos of your cat, and to save the pictures and videos the Application creates to your library
- Notifications — for reminders, and to let you know when a video is ready
Cookies and tracking technologies
The Application and its third-party SDKs use device storage, SDKs, and similar technologies to support functionality, analytics, and service delivery. The Application does not use these technologies to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising. Where required by applicable law, the Service Provider will obtain consent before using non-essential tracking technologies.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data held by the Service Provider. To exercise these rights, or to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, contact the Service Provider at contact@apprexy.com. Because the Application does not ask for your name or email address, please include details that help the Service Provider locate your data, such as the date of a purchase and its Apple receipt, when you contact them.
Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. The Service Provider does not sell your personal information. To exercise your CCPA/CPRA rights, contact the Service Provider at contact@apprexy.com.
The Service Provider may use the information you provide to send important information and required notices, and, where permitted by law, marketing communications.
Third Party Access
The Service Provider shares information with the service providers listed below only as needed to operate the Application and its features. These providers process the information on the Service Provider's behalf. The Service Provider does not sell your personal information.
Please note that the Application utilizes third-party services that have their own Privacy Policy about handling data. Below are the links to the Privacy Policy of the third-party service providers used by the Application:
- Google Cloud — the Service Provider's servers (Cloud Run), database (Firestore), and storage for the pictures and videos the Application creates (Cloud Storage), as well as Vertex AI, which processes the content described above
- Firebase — anonymous sign-in (Firebase Authentication), protection against abuse by verifying that requests come from the genuine Application (Firebase App Check), and push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging)
- fal.ai — creation of outfit pictures, video first frames, and video clips from photos of your cat
- RevenueCat — subscription and purchase processing. RevenueCat receives your anonymous account identifier and your purchase information
- Mixpanel — product analytics, and delivery of support messages sent through the contact form. The Application sends this data to Mixpanel's EU data residency servers
- Apple — payments for subscriptions and coin packs are handled by Apple through the App Store. The Service Provider does not receive your payment card details
If you request a refund of a coin pack from Apple, Apple may ask the Service Provider how much of that pack was used. As stated in the coin store before you buy, the Service Provider may tell Apple how many of the pack's coins were used, so that Apple can take it into account when deciding the refund.
The Service Provider may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:
- as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;
- when they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
- with their trusted services providers who work on their behalf, do not have an independent use of the information the Service Provider discloses to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.
International Data Transfers
The Service Provider's servers and database are located in the European Union (Google Cloud, europe-west1 and the eur3 multi-region), and analytics data is sent to Mixpanel's EU data residency servers. However, some of the Service Provider's third-party service providers, including the AI providers, may process personal data in countries outside your country of residence, including outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, the Service Provider will use appropriate mechanisms, such as:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission
- Adequacy decisions or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms
- Your consent, where required and legally permitted
Data protection laws in other countries may differ from those in your jurisdiction. Where required by law, the Service Provider will apply appropriate safeguards and obtain any consent required for the transfer.
Opt-Out Rights
You can turn off usage data at any time in the Application under Settings → Usage data. Turning it off stops further usage events from being sent to Mixpanel. The rest of the Application keeps working normally.
You can turn off microphone, camera, photo library, and notification access at any time in your device's Settings. Features that need them will ask again when you use them.
You can also stop all further collection of information by uninstalling the Application. Neither uninstalling nor turning usage data off automatically deletes information that has already been sent to the Service Provider or to third parties.
To request deletion of your personal data, to withdraw consent, or to exercise any of your rights, contact the Service Provider at contact@apprexy.com.
Data Retention Policy
The Service Provider retains personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy:
- Recordings, videos, photos, selfies, and text you submit: Not stored by the Service Provider's server after your request has been answered
- Pictures and videos the Application creates for you: Deleted automatically 30 days after they are created
- Your anonymous account, coin balance, and purchase records: Retained for as long as you use the Application and for as long as needed to keep your purchased coins available to you, to handle refunds, and to meet legal and accounting obligations
- Push notification tokens: Retained until they are no longer valid, for example after the Application is deleted, or until you ask for deletion
- Usage data: Retained for as long as necessary for product analytics, unless longer retention is required by law
- Aggregated and anonymized data: Retained indefinitely as it no longer identifies you
- Data required for legal compliance: Retained as long as required by applicable law
The Application does not currently offer an in-app option to delete the data held by the Service Provider. If you would like the Service Provider to delete it, please contact them at contact@apprexy.com and they will respond in a reasonable time. Please note that deleting your account data also deletes any unused coins, which cannot be restored afterwards.
Children
The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.
The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case the Service Provider discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, the Service Provider will immediately delete this from their servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact the Service Provider (contact@apprexy.com) so that they will be able to take the necessary actions.
Security
The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains. For example, all communication between the Application and the Service Provider's servers is encrypted, requests must come from a genuine copy of the Application, and the pictures and videos created for you are stored privately and can be opened only through time-limited links.
Data Breach Notification
If a data breach occurs that affects your personal data, the Service Provider will notify you in accordance with applicable legal requirements, including, where required, providing information about the nature of the breach and the steps being taken to address it.
Changes
The Service Provider may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The Service Provider will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Privacy Policy with an effective date. Where required by law, the Service Provider will seek your consent to material changes before they take effect.
Previous versions of this Privacy Policy will be maintained and made available upon request by contacting the Service Provider at contact@apprexy.com.
This privacy policy is effective as of 2026-09-29.
Your Consent
By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by the Service Provider. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
